National Communication officer for the Opposition National Democratic Congress, Samuel Gyamfi, has admoimse President Akufo-Addo to stop acting like an angel because his party is in power now.
According to the firebrand of the NDC, Akufo-Addo was a violent person in opposition and still violent after wining power and for they he (Akufo-Addo) is not the one Mr Mahama will take peace lessons from.
President Akufo-Addo, speaking at the 20th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Tertiary Students Confederation (TESCON), on Tuesday, 18th February, 2020, in Ho, in the Volta Region, declared that there will be no strife or violence despite claims by former President Mahama to the effect that there could be strife after the December 7, 2020 elections because the Electoral Commission(EC) has refused to listen to those opposed to the compilation of a new voters register and is going head to compile it.
“But I want to assure him that there will be no strife, there will be no conflict after the December 7 general elections. The good sense of the Ghanaian people, which has preserved the peace and stability of the 4th Republic for the last 27 years, will continue to prevail, and they will not permit any poor, desperate loser to plunge this country into chaos. Ghana is bigger than the ambitions of any of us,” he added.
Reacting to such statements from the President, the astute communicator for the NDC noted that the flagbearer of his party will not take moral lessons from a President who under his watch, supervised the brutalitisatiom of some Ghanaians at Ayawaso West Wuogon and has still failed to implement recommendations by the Emile Short commission.
“Since when has Akufo-Addo evinced any semblance of a peaceful disposition? This is a man who is famed for being full of tension and violence both as an opposition leader and President. And yet today he says what?
Well, President Akufo-Addo should be told, that the peaceful and humble John Mahama will not take peace lessons from a man who personifies violence. He will not take peace lessons from the founder and commander-in-Chief of the NPP’s Delta Forces, Invisible forces, Bolgatanga Bulldogs, Kandahar Boys and Volta Crocodiles who have unleashed mayhem on our courts, the police and innocent Ghanaians since 2008″.
