Amanda Chapin, who is accused of poisoning her 71-year-old husband at least three times, could spend up to 12.5 years in prison.
A Wisconsin woman is expected to spend almost ten years in prison for poisoning her 71-year-old husband, a veterinarian, by repeatedly adding medications meant for animal euthanasia to his coffee shortly after their wedding, which left him in a coma, according to authorities.
According to Wisconsin Circuit Court records, Amanda Alicia Chapin, 51, entered a no contest plea on Friday to a charge of felony first-degree reckless endangering Gary Chapin’s safety. In exchange for a plea agreement last week, the charge of first-degree attempted homicide was reduced.
Between July and August of 2022, Chapin is accused of putting three times in his coffee barbituates that she had taken from her spouse. Following their marriage in March of that year, the lady allegedly signed a power of attorney paperwork under the false pretenses of being her husband’s kid, as per a criminal complaint that Fox News Digital had previously looked over.
