Since joining Wolves from Lazio in 2019, Pedro Neto has become one of the Premier League’s best all-around forwards. His five-year stay at the Molineux Stadium was nothing short of a brilliant performance week after week for Wolves, and have been a fan favorite at Wolves and other Premier fans alike.
Pedro has also been a subject of transfer speculation every summer until Chelsea announced that they had reached a deal of £54m with Wolverhampton for Pedro Neto. The Portuguese international signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea and was presented as a new player on Sunday at Stamford Bridge during their preseason game with Inter Milan.
Chelsea has been active in the summer, spending over £200 million so far, and is still in the market to beef up its squad.
However, Manchester United legend Roy Keane insists Pedro will likely add to Chelsea’s problems, considering his injury records. He believes he will have a poor first season at Stamford Bridge.
What did Roy Keane say about Pedro Neto?
While discussing the Pedro Neto transfer to Chelsea on The Overlap podcast, Arsenal legend Ian Wright insisted that Pedro Neto will be one of the best signings of the season. Roy Keane believed otherwise and said, “No! He’s always injured! F*** sake. He’s like [Luke] Shaw.
“He’ll add to the chaos. He’s going to add to the chaos. He will run everywhere and then spend six months on the treatment table with a hamstring injury.”
Meanwhile, Pedro Neto, who was in a joyful mood during his presentation as a new Chelsea player, said: “I feel really grateful to have joined this club.
“I have worked really hard in my career to be here and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this shirt.”

The 24-year-old Portuguese international will be in contention to make his Premier League debut for Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge when they welcome defending Champion Manchester City in their first Premier League game of the season.
Chelsea hopes to continue its impressive run at the end of last season’s Premier League campaign, which saw them move to the Europe League spot. However, Manchester United overleaped them when they won the FA Cup.
However, Chelsea’s preseason performance shows otherwise as they won only one of their preseason games, and the players seem to struggle as their new manager, Enzo Maresca, tries to implement his ideas.
Can Enzo Maresca guide Chelsea to a top-four finish this season and qualify for the Champions League next season? Your comments are welcome in the comments action.
