Arsenal will be facing Chelsea in the FA Cup final today. The gunners finished 8th in the Premier League which just concluded a week ago. They need to win the FA in order to actually secure a place in the Europa League.
Arsenal defensive crisis have often been exposed during the past season. David Luiz was spectacular during the 2-0 win against Manchester City in the semifinals.
He has however made critical errors and conceded unnecessary penalties on several occasions that have led to the Arsenal side conceded 48 goals in the Premier League season.
Arsenal will be without Callum Chambers, Pablo Mari and Shkrodan Mustafi in their defense. This will leave Arteta with no option but to start David Luiz and Rob Holding in the Central Defense.
David Luiz is a loophole that the blues side will seek to exploit with their in-form midfielder, Pulisic. Oliver Giroud is highly likely to start and with his height and ability to win aerial balls will definitely be a problem for the Arsenal defenders.
Giroud caused problems in the semi-finals that led to Eric Baily leaving on a stretcher after the defender was knocked down by his fellow teammate Harry Maguire. Having played for the gunners before Giroud will definitely keep the defense busy and make them commit fouls that may in turn lead to goals.
The Arsenal’s prolific goalkeeper Bernd Leno, will also be missing after he sustained an injury against Brighton. Arsenal will also miss the services of Gabriel Martinelli. The gunners are likely to play with a back 3 and Lampard has tactics to exploit the formation as he did against Manchester United in the Semifinals.
