Lauren E. Winstead, age 23, and Sarah E. Erway, age 28, were reported missing at the time their group was rescued.
Two women have been reported missing in Virginia after something went wrong at a Memorial Day event that was held on the James River.
The News God reported that Henrico County police found Lauren E. Winstead, 23, and Sarah E. Erway, 28 while conducting a search and rescue operation close to Bosher’s Dam in Richmond’s Henrico County. Both women were confirmed as missing after the operation.

According to the Richmond Fire Department, there were a total of 12 people on rafts and paddleboards when they went over the dam. In addition to the one person who was able to swim to safety, nine other people’s lives were saved by civilian kayakers who were on the scene.

According to the authorities, there were still two ladies missing.
