On Saturday, President Trump sent a stern warning to Iran through a series of Twitter messages to deter Iran from retaliating following the US-ordered aviation strike that killed Gen Qassem Soleimani in Iran last week.
President Trump said; “Iran is talking very boldly about targeting certain USA assets as revenge for our ridding the world of their terrorist leader who had just killed an American, & badly wounded many others, not to mention all of the people he had killed over his lifetime, including recently hundreds of Iranian protesters,”

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani vowed “harsh retribution is waiting for the criminals whose dirty hands spilled his blood.” Iranian militias invading Iraq, known as the People’s Mobilization Forces, were quickly threatening vengeance on U. S. people after Soleimani had died, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said, “take revenge for this heinous crime.” His nearest confidant Abu Mahdi al-Mohandas, the PMF’s deputy leader, had been killed alongside Soleimani at Baghdad airport.
Trump made it clear he expects the Iranians to stop threatening the U.S. “The USA wants no more threats!” Trump tweeted.
