Time magazine is set to crown US President-elect Donald Trump its Person of the Year. Yes, you read that right. A man who has been impeached twice, indicted four times, and survived two assassination attempts is now being celebrated as the most influential person of 2024.
President-elect Donald J. Trump is no stranger to either controversy or accolades.

Trump had this penchant for keeping himself in the news and highly controversial, from the White House to his fiefdom of companies, from shaping policy debates to dominating social media conversations, he is a force to be reckoned with. Why was he chosen as ‘Person of the Year’ this time?

Trump’s influence is indisputable. Like a phoenix from the ashes, Trump has emerged and pulled off a remarkable comeback, winning the presidential election of 2024. He is the first president to win another term after he lost his reelection bid, since Grover Cleveland way back in 1892.

Trump’s victory is a testament not only to his resilience but also to the political realignment he has brought about. He has gained support from younger voters and Hispanic voters, a demographic shift that has left many political analysts amazed. And let’s not forget his penchant for drama-surviving assassination attempts.
