As a physics student, we know how frustrating it can be to sit through a chapter or section that is really difficult.  The good news is that many of your struggles could be eliminated if you would just put some effort into these tips for better comprehension.

-Set a timer and try not to look at the clock in between each question. This will help you focus on answering each question immediately instead of worrying about time limits when rushing through an answer as you’re writing it down. Class 11th physics chapter is tough so better concentration is required.

-If you struggle with reading from a textbook, try using an electronic reader instead. It takes up way less space, handles difficult math functions much easily, and eliminates the possibility of losing your concentration in the textbook.

-If you find that you do spend more time “feeling around” for concepts and equations in a textbook, then simply highlight them (with yellow or blue pens) and use them as a reference when looking up terms and equations on Google, Wikipedia, or other websites. It can save you a lot of time by not needing to re-read the textbook.

-Learn the name of each function, equation, and concept in your text with a simple exercise at the end of each chapter that asks you to identify the function, equation, or concept. We found using this simple memory game really helps me memorize these keywords and concepts fast.

-Try using an abbreviated version of a word or phrase as a keyword to help recall more complex terms and ideas. For example, a keyword to remember “Newton’s 3rd law of motion” is “law”, and a keyword to remember “speed = distance /time” is “v = d/t”.

-If you want to use a glossary of words, try creating your own by writing all the terms that you want in the glossary on sticky notes and then put them in a folder with the name of your book. This is a great way to memorize all the important concepts in your textbook.

-Learn how each unit (term, equation, etc.) relates to other units of the same kind. For example, learning how momentum relates to velocity will help you easily grasp how these two concepts can be used together.

-Label each picture with a keyword and try to use a keyword when explaining what is happening in the picture. For example, “slope” can be labeled on the side of an incline, and “horizontal line” can be labeled on the drawing of a straight horizontal line. This will help you remember how these graphs work and help you understand how to use them.

-Try using personal mnemonics to help you remember difficult concepts . Mnemonics are great tools for remembering tough concepts because they can link memories that would normally not go together, making it easier to recall them later.

-Allow yourself plenty of time to finish the chapter and/or section. If you have plenty of time, you can take your time to carefully comprehend each paragraph and concept instead of rushing through it in a panic.

-Learn how to ask the “why” question. We know it sounds a little silly, but asking why things work the way that they do is a great way to really understand key concepts. For example, one can ask why something is accelerating by using Newton’s 2nd law or understanding how gravitational acceleration works with something like Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation helps as well.

-Try looking for patterns in equations, expressions, and formulas. This can help you understand the important terms and concepts much faster.

-When learning a new concept, try inquiring why it works the way that it does. The more ways you can think of how and why a concept works, the quicker you’ll remember it so that you’re not left with having to constantly look up equations for concepts that might only be used once in an entire course. InfinityLearn provides the best study guide.

-Let yourself mentally visualize what’s happening in each part of a problem rather than trying to use the equation alone.

-For more difficult concepts, try reciting out loud what you’re reading in a textbook or article. This can be done on your own or with a group of people as a study group while taking an exam or doing homework. NCERT class 11 physics part 1 solutions are tough so that needs more practice.

Conclusion

Try making up a mnemonic that makes sense to you or is related to something you already know to help remember key equations and concepts. Always read the introduction and conclusion sections in your textbook or article to get a good idea of what is covered within. Taking a little time out at the beginning can really set up a better foundation for you to understand everything else throughout your study guide. Make sure you read everything in your textbook or article once without looking at the solutions to see if you can figure it out yourself.
