Alan Yentob is a British retired television executive and presenter. He was born March 11, 1947, in Stepney, London, England. He was well known during his time at the BBC and held senior positions, including controller of BBC2, controller of BBC1, and head of music and arts. In December 2015, he resigned as the creative director of the BBC.
1968: He joined the BBC at the age of 21 as a trainee in the BBC World Service, becoming their only non-Oxbridge graduate of that year. Because of his hard work and willingness to learn, Alan became an assistant director of arts programmes on TV within just nine months. Some of the TV shows he directed and produced as the assistant director of arts programmes included “Omnibus” and “Arena.”

He received a mathematics scholarship to study at Christ Church, Oxford and graduated with a first-class honors degree in philosophy, politics and economics.
Nigel started his political career when the Conservative Central Office hired him to assist with speech-writing for Sir Alec Douglas-Home and Prime Minister Harold Macmillan in the lead-up to the 1964 general election.

Sir Henry Tate was an English sugar merchant and philanthropist, born on March 11, 1819 in Chorley, Lancashire, England. At the age of 13, Henry Tate became a grocer’s apprentice in Liverpool. After seven years as an apprentice, he established his own shop. His first business grew, and by age 35, Tate had six stores.
Henry became a partner in John Wright & Co., a sugar refinery company, in 1859. In 1861, he sold his grocery business. Tate renamed the sugar refinery company Henry Tate & Sons after gaining complete control in 1869. He chopped more success in 1872 by obtaining a patent from German Eugen Langen for making sugar cubes and built a new refinery in Liverpool.
He opened another branch of his refinery business in Silvertown, London. Henry had a good heart and also cared about the interests and welfare of his workers. He established the Tate Institute opposite his Thames Refinery, with a dancing hall and bar for workers’ recreation.
Tate was also famous for his philanthropic work in health and education. He died on December 5, 1899 at the age of 80.
