Alfred Edward Housman, famously known as A. E. Housman was an iconic English classical scholar and poet born on March 26, 1859, in Worcestershire, England.

Housman received his education at King Edward’s School and later Bromsgrove School. For his excellent academic performance, he was awarded an open scholarship to St John’s College, Oxford, in 1877; he studied classics.

Despite having first-class honors, Housman needed help finding success early in his career. He worked as a clerk at the Patent Office in London before pursuing a teaching career at University College London and later at the University of Cambridge. He later became a Professor of Latin at both Universities.

His literary debut was the publication of “A Shropshire Lad” in 1896. The book received widespread acclaim, especially among young readers. Housman’s scholarly contributions include his critical editions of Roman poets such as Juvenal, Manilius, and Lucan.

Although he never married, Housman’s personal life was marked by his love and passion for literature and music. Robert won his first Pulitzer Prize in 1924 for his book New Hampshire: A Poem with Notes and Grace Notes. Robert taught at the mountain campus in Ripton, Vermont, of Bread Loaf School of English of Middlebury College for 42 years during summer and fall. Frost was awarded over 30 honorary degrees, including those from Oxford, Princeton, and Cambridge universities. He became the only person awarded two honorary degrees from Dartmouth College.

Beyond “Star Trek,” Nimoy had a prolific acting career, appearing in numerous films, television shows, and stage productions, including “Catlow (1971), “Columbo” (1973), and “The Missing Are Deadly” (1974). He also directed several successful films, including “Star Trek III: The Search for Spock” and “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.”
