Thomas Lane is looking at a potential sentence of two and a half years in federal prison for the murder of George Floyd.
On Thursday, a former officer with the Minneapolis Police Department named Thomas Lane was given a sentence of thirty months in prison for his part in the unlawful arrest and detention of a man named George Floyd.
More than two years after Floyd’s death, a judge decided that he was killed in an unlawful manner because his hands were shackled and a knee was slammed into his back, which prevented him from breathing. This decision was made despite the fact that Floyd’s murder occurred more than two years ago.
