Mawuse Oliver Barker-Vormawor (Oliver, a Ghanaian), a governance advisor is not too happy with the corruption fight by the governing body and suggested that “The whole state is an organized criminal network”
If our memory serves us right, Dr. Bawumia and the NPP political promised to fight corruption to the dept. In June 2019, the vice president reaffirms their commitment to fighting corruption but according to Oliver, we are seeing the direct opposite of those promises. He said: “Most corruption in Ghana is so basic that If the State really had an interest in pursuing corruption, we will be rid of at least 90% of it. Yet it takes… journalists and a cursory look at documentation, to reveal these practices. The whole state is an organized criminal network”
Prior to 2016 general election, the then flagbearer and now President Nana Addo Dankwa sent a strong signal of his zeal to fight corruption and consistently lambasted the previous John Mahama’s regime. Are we to compare to compare two evils and applaud those who are less evil? no, but it does seem scandals under Mahama’s Government were less and friendly than Nana Akufo-Addo’s. Nana’s scandals are gigantically demonic. Draconian too. It happens every hour. It’s like a daily meal – the Ghanaian people can not live without it.
The option is scary nonsense! No one can convince any reasonable Ghanaian that Mahama’s number of Ministers was scary than Nana’s large size of over 120 Ministers of state. No one can convince us that petrol prices under Mahama was scary than Nana’s. A country with less than 30million population governed by almost 120 ministers is scarier.
