Jake Auchincloss, a member of Congress, accompanied President Biden on his trip the day before Biden tested coronavirus positive.
Rep. Jake Auchincloss, a Democrat, posted photos of himself with former President Joe Biden on Wednesday. On Thursday, his office confirmed to an investigative reporter that he had tested negative for COVID-19.
The White House did not disclose to the public until Thursday that the president had a positive test result for COVID-19, despite the fact that Auchincloss and Biden had detected the virus on Wednesday.
Rep. Auchincloss’s press secretary, Matt Corridoni, tweeted on Thursday morning that the congressman had tested negative for COVID prior to his trip with the president yesterday and that he had also tested negative this morning. Corridoni also tweeted that the congressman had tested negative this morning. At this moment, he does not exhibit any symptoms, but he will continue to be examined on a regular basis.
Both Auchincloss and Biden followed him on his speaking tour around his home state of Massachusetts, which was focused on the topic of climate change. The congressman took a couple of pictures of President Biden while he was flying on Air Force One, and he uploaded them to Twitter after the trip. Both pictures depict them standing close to one another and one of them shaking the hand of the other.
