In as much as we welcome the nomination of Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman as the running mate to the incompetent former President and flag bearer of the opposition NDC, the apostles of women empowerment must spare us the hypocritical hymns they are singing now.
Not quiet long ago these apostles of women empowerment sat down unconcerned and allowed the chairpersons of the Electoral Commission to be taken to the cleaners without showing any signs of solidarity to their fellow woman who holds such an enviable and sensitive position like the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
Attacks on her personality, threats on her life by people who disagreed with her position on the current new voter register. These so called women empowerment groups never came to rescue or speak against those who were vilifying her personality.
The NDC women caucus in Parliament described Madam Lydia Alhassan as a ‘Bloody Widow’ for no justifiable reason and these later day saints women activist never raised a voice to conderm the minority NDC women caucus in Parliament.
Let these latter day saints women activist spare our ears with their santamonious rendition of condemning those who are speaking against Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman’s performance at the Education ministry.
Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman works at the education ministry is nothing good to write home about and so people must be allowed to express their opinions on her performance at the Education ministry.
It’s only as a result of incompetence on the side of John Dramani Mahama that has compelled him to rely on sentimentalism in his quest to lead this nation again.
If the NDC is truly committed to embracing women’s participation at the highest level, why don’t they allow John Mahama to step aside for Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang to lead the charge?
It is not a bad concept to empower women but it’s disastrous to attempt to empower a substandard woman who couldn’t live up to expectations during her tenure as the Education Minister.
She is only noted for the construction of speed ramps during her reign as the Vice Chancellor for the University of Cape Coast.
The Apostles of women empowerment should give us a break with their hypocritical hymns. In anyway, why are they behaving as if they would have voted for any other party if Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang was not selected?
We remember your running mate very well for signing the petition for the release of the Montie trio who embarked on a mission to rape her colleague woman in the person of the then Chief Justice Theodora Georgina Wood.
“When the preferable is not available, the available becomes preferable ” Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang has only been hand picked as a result of the scarcity of good materials.
This gender strategy by these Apostles of women empowerment is dead on arrival.
The majority Right-thinking Ghanaians will reject the incompetence duo and vote for continuity come 7th December.
