The 3 Worst Heroes
With each version of Dota 2 we see heroes that improve and others sink more than they already were. Thus, with patch 7.31d we saw how Marci, Tiny, and Beatdown have become practically unstoppable creatures. Quite the opposite of what happens to the heroes listed below.
Storm Spirit
The first place on the list is for Storm Spirit, the mid-laner picked by many pro teams in pretty much every big game. Everyone who watched Major Stockholm 2022 knows that this hero was among the most popular options. One of the impressive abilities is that Storm Spirit didn’t need much farm to be effective in the game. It feels like the mid-laner always had enough mana regen to cope with tons of damage.
Despite this, the new patch nerfed only the core items of the hero, not introducing any major changes to him. In this way, Null Talisman current mana gives 3%, and mana regen is 0.73 per second. These facts impacted the Storm Spirit’s win rating, which is less than 40%.
Mars
The second name on the list is Mars. He became the most popular off-laner and one of the most picked heroes in the game since his appearance in Captain Mode. His insane damage output and high speed make him suitable for every stage of the game. Mars has no or little competition with the most carries and mid-lane heroes in terms of insane damage. In addition, he has an ultimate and a stun that makes him even tankier.
However, the hero didn’t receive that many nerfs in the latest patch. In fact, the newest update only reduced his base damage by 3. Moreover, Spear of Mars now ranges from 2.4 to 2.6 seconds on level four instead of 2.9. Thus, the hero features a winning percentage of 42.54%, and, as if that were not enough, his pick rate is 10.7%. These are important numbers for a hero who was an absolute priority a few months ago.
Pangolier
Although Pangolier was never as popular as Storm Spirit or Mars, some of the pro teams picked him pretty regularly. There are cases where casual players use him thanks to his high mobility, fantastic damage output, and the ability to crush the opponent’s lineup. On top of that, Pango can easily damage enemies in a 1vs1 scenario and do it with just a few items. Those abilities made him good for those players who knew how to adapt his potential.
Sadly, his current winning rate is among the lowest in the last couple of weeks because Pango only wins in 42% of the games. One of the reasons for that came with the 7.31d patch, in which the hero received a few nerfs. The first one is his Shield Crash, which has been increased from 10 to 13 seconds on level four. In addition, his Roll Up ability now lasts for 2.67 seconds instead of 4.10 seconds.
The Second Half of Dota 2 Season Begins
The Dota 2 competitive scene is still ongoing, with published details that include a breakdown of the calendar, the format of the tournaments, and prize draws. In this way, an upcoming Major event is going to take place in Arlington from August 4 to 14. It will have the 18 best teams competing for a cumulative prize of $400,000 and extra DPC points. Speaking of which, the top 20 teams with the most points accumulated will qualify for The International 2022, scheduled from October 8 to 30. So, without any doubt, we expect to see plenty of interesting things in the second half of the season.
