Late Monday night, a mass shooting occurred in Fort Worth, Texas, leaving at least three people dead and eight others injured.
Several hundred individuals gathered in a parking lot, prompting the dispatch of Fort Worth police officers. Multiple victims of gunshot wounds were discovered at the scene, and three were pronounced deceased on the spot. Unknown is the condition of the remaining eight victims transported to local facilities.
According to initial reports, ten of the fatalities of the shooting are adults, and one is a minor. It is unknown how old the deceased was.
The police department asked anyone with information about the incident to contact the Ft. Worth Police Department Homicide Unit at 817-392-4400 or Crime Stoppers.
Local media reported that the shooting occurred mere hours after the conclusion of the annual ComoFest in the neighborhood.
The police have not yet made any arrests in connection with the incident, but their homicide unit has launched an investigation. Officials have also not determined the number of shooters involved in the calamity.
The incident occurred as Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) agents located a number of dead migrants washed up on the Rio Grande shoreline. According to DPS spokesperson Lt. Chris Olivarez, two carcasses were recovered from the river on July 1, July 2, and July 3. The remains are currently unidentified.
“In the past 48 hours, the Texas Department of Public Safety Tactical Marine Unit (TMU) has recovered four deceased bodies, including an infant, from the Rio Grande River in Eagle Pass,” Olivarez tweeted on Monday afternoon.
