She was born to Scott Kingsley Swift and Andrea Gardner Swift. Her father worked formerly as a stockbroker for Merrill Lynch and her mother was also a former homemaker who was previously a mutual fund marketing executive. Her parents named her after a singer and songwriter called James Taylor.
