A Republican senator is pushing for a disciplinary probe into the legal team after a judge accused one of Hunter Biden’s attorneys of lying about her identification to court officials. The judge accused the lawyer of lying about her identity to protect her client, Hunter Biden.
Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-Nebraska) told the media, “I’ve heard from countless Americans who are concerned that our justice system is being weaponized against President Biden’s political opponents while his son gets preferential treatment.” Ricketts is a member of the Nebraska Senate.
If there was any impropriety or prejudice on the part of the legal team supporting Hunter Biden, they need to account for it. Because of the poor handling of recent cases by the administration of Vice President Joe Biden, public faith in our legal system has been badly damaged. As a result, we must make quick efforts to restore its credibility.
U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika issued an order this week in which she threatened sanctions against Hunter Biden’s legal team. The order was issued after the judge accused Latham & Watkins attorney Jessica Bengels of having “misrepresented her identity and who she worked for in an attempt to improperly convince the Clerk’s Office” to remove a crucial document from the ongoing criminal tax case involving the son of the president. The paper was intended to be excluded from the proceeding.
