Last year October 2018, Admiral Kuznetsov was reportedly severely damaged and was taking to maintenance over 2 years.

The only left Aircraft carrier for the Russians caught up in flames as it underwent maintenance in an Artic shipyard, Russian news agencies reported, wounding at least two service members.
Officials of the Northern fleet confirmed this on Thursday, saying the blaze on the ship, the Admiral Kuznetsov, has been managed and affected persons are undergoing medical treatment.
It’s on records that The Admiral Kuznetsov hasn’t been fit for a while now and has been maintainance over the last two years in Murmansk and suffered another damage in late 2018 as a result of a crane crash.
It is believed according to many sources that the flame broke out due to welding operations on board.
TASS, a state media house has confirmed that at least 400 people were on board before the unfortunate event.
News agency Interfax reported that the fire had spread over an area of about 600 square metres (6,500 square feet).
The Admiral Kuznetsov is believed to finish it’s maintenance work in 2020. Caml has ever been restored and safety has been assured according to Admiral Kuznetsov officials.
