Manchester United move back to third place in the Premier League following a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest thanks to goals from Antony and Diego Dalot in both halves.
One player who impressed in the win against Nottingham Forest was Portuguese international Bruno Fernandez. The Midfielder had an excellent despite failing to add his name to the score sheet.
Former Manchester United player Roy Keane has hailed Bruno Fernandez, claiming he is “two steps” ahead of his teammates.
What did Roy Keane say about Bruno Fernandez?
Asked about Bruno Fernandez, Roy Keane told Sky Sport: “Brilliant, I really think he’s a brilliant player.
“He’ll be disappointed he didn’t obviously score, but the quality of his balls into the box – if you’re a striker it’s a dream, you make some runs and he picks you out.
“Plenty of time today, he’s got a good relationship obviously with [Christian] Eriksen and all the guys around him. I just think he’s pure quality.
“I know we criticize him when United doesn’t win football matches. He’s two steps ahead in terms of his quality and the picture he has on the football pitch. I think the guy’s pure quality.
“He’ll be disappointed again he hasn’t scored but a great day for him, very comfortable.”
Meanwhile, Erik Ten Hag delivers a verdict on Christian Eriksen following Nottingham Forest’s victory.
He told Sky Sport after the victory: “I think Christian Eriksen is not really a disadvantage when he’s coming in! He played a brilliant game.
“Both full-backs are important in that, to work together, to come inside, go outside and the co-operation and then we created space and the timing was good to pass the ball into the central areas.
“Then we progress and when we come to wide areas we have to change and we did that quite well.”
Harry Maguire started for Manchester United in defense but was deployed on the right side.
Revealing the reason behind the positional change, he added: “Not with me [he didn’t play on the left].
“Not in this season. Because the angles are not good if Harry is playing on the left side. It’s difficult for him.
“He’s more capable on the right and Victor can use very good both feet. He also did a brilliant job in defense. That’s why we prefer to do it with them in this way.”
On Manchester United’s defense against Nottingham Forest, Ten Hag told BBC: “[The defense was] very good, a really solid performance from all on the pitch today.
“Centre-backs had great cooperation, full-backs were brilliant in and out of possession. Harry [Maguire] and Victor [Lindelof] dominated their opponents.
“Last week I had nine fit top defenders, now I have four. We need all our players, we are still in three competitions, we need all the players to form a top team.”
