The former Manchester United legend became the latest Manchester United player to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame. The honor was confirmed on the former England defender on Wednesday.
Ferdinand has named Kelvin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah, and Erling Haaland as the first names that come to mind as future Premier League Hall of Famers.
What did Rio Ferdinand say?
When asked about the current players who will join him later in the Premier League Hall of Fame, Rio Ferdinand revealed on his Youtube Channel Vibe with Five: “Kevin De Bruyne is the first name everyone is mentioning.
“Arsene Wenger mentioned him last night when he was asked [about current players joining the Hall of Fame], and I agree.
“I think Mohamed Salah will end up in there. Erling Haaland… He can go in there after just one season! Haaland could jump in there right now and be comfortable.”
The Manchester United icon also revealed that Phil Foden is the current young player that will be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
Phil Foden is on course of winning his 5th Premier League title at the age of 23.
He added: “Who’s a young player, I think, who will end up in there? Phil Foden.
“Did you know that Foden, potentially at the end of this season, if Man City wins the Premier League… he will have five titles.
“He’s 23-years old! It’s a disgrace, an absolute disgrace.”
Meanwhile, Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray has tipped Manchester United Loanee Amad Diallo to break into Erik Ten Hag’s first team next season.
The Ivorian international has been nominated for Championship Young Player of the Season following his impressive performance for Sunderland on loan in the Championship.
“It would be great if we could say, ‘Let’s keep that story going,” He revealed.
“The kid, he would do it again. He is playing every week; he scores, and the fans love him.
” I think Manchester United are happy, but I think the next step is for them to take Amad on pre-season to America.
“That’s what I think is going to happen. Then they’ll see how he gets on.
“I’m sure [Erik ten Hag has] been watching Amad’s clips from games.
“Just as I watch all of our players who are out on loan. But he’ll need to see him on a daily basis and feel what he brings.”
