Since former President Joe Biden warned about the danger that supporters of former President Donald Trump pose to the country, there have been multiple incidents of political violence, many of which involved victims who supported conservative causes. These incidents include attacks on anti-abortion activists and political canvassers, as well as the slaying of an 18-year-old in the state of North Dakota.
During a speech that took place on September 1 in Philadelphia, President Joe Biden made the statement that “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.” This statement drew widespread criticism from conservatives as well as some critics on the left.
In his speech, President Joe Biden referred to supporters of the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) agenda as “authoritarian leaders who promote authoritarian leaders and fan the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, and to the very soul of this country.”
In the days leading up to his address in Philadelphia, Joe Biden claimed that Republicans who support the MAGA agenda “embrace political violence” and that their “entire mindset” is “something like semi-fascism.”
