An addiction counselor in Oregon has leveled the accusation that the city is giving drug users “the means to kill themselves.”
Despite the city’s continuous challenges with raging drug and homelessness epidemics, Portland is making it easy for fentanyl addicts to receive their fix by supplying them with aluminum foil, straws, and pipes. This is being done to reduce the number of overdose deaths in the city.
On Monday’s episode of “Fox & Friends First,” drug counselor Kevin Dahlgren expressed his shock at the decision, saying that he was appalled by the fact that the city had no plans to handle its growing number of problems, one of which is the drug pandemic that has many locals so enraged.
According to him, the tactic they are using now is “letting them all die.” This baffles my understanding of the situation. In these harm reduction clinics, we provide individuals access to the method of ending their life that is the quickest and most efficient, even though it is the most harmful drug in the history of the human race.
