According to reports, the boy’s mother drowned in the water while attempting to save her other children.
On Thursday, a young boy, age 6, went missing after going fishing with his family in Amesbury, Massachusetts, along the border of the Merrimac River. Authorities in the state of Massachusetts are searching for the missing child.
According to authorities, on Thursday, the Amesbury police department, along with two onlookers, discovered the body of the deceased mother and the 7-year-old sister of the child who had drowned while attempting to save her.
As the search for the missing person continues, the Amesbury Police Department reminded boaters to “keep clear of the public safety watercraft and divers” in an updated post on Facebook. They also urged boaters to steer clear of the portion of the Merrimac River that is located “between Deer Island and Whittier Bridge.”
Around 5 o’clock on Friday, the Coast Guard put an end to their search for the boy who had been missing.
