After the teacher was arrested, she was no longer able to work at the Kindercare Learning Center in Dunedin, Florida.
Deputy sheriffs in Florida state that they witnessed a preschool teacher repeatedly punch a small kid in the head. The child was taken to the hospital after the incident, and the teacher was later charged with felony counts of child abuse.
On Wednesday, law enforcement in Dunedin, Florida, said that they had video footage of a woman named Ashley Richards, who works at a Kindercare facility and is 32 years old, hitting a child many times in the head.
After hearing screams coming from the playground, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office received a statement from a witness who said she witnessed Richards striking a child with “both an open hand and a closed fist in the back of the head and on the side of the head.”
A person who didn’t want to be named told the police that she saw Richards push the child to the ground, which made her pull out her phone and record what happened next.
