Chelsea striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has recalled the time spent in training with legendary striker Ronaldo Nazario at AC Milan. The Gabonese international joined the AC Milan youth team in 2007.
The blues will face AC Milan back to back in a Champions League Group C encounter. The Italian Champions top Group C with 4 points. The blues are bottom in the Group with one point in two games.
Aubameyang has revealed that Ronaldo was fat, but he was still the best.
What did Pierre Emerick Aubameyang say about Ronaldo Nazario?
Speaking ahead of Chelsea back to back Champions League clash with AC Milan, He told the Sun: “The team was really strong, to tell the truth.
“I was just trying to improve and looking at him to learn as much as I could. To tell the truth, he was a bit fat by then! But he was still the best.
“I will always remember when Carlo Ancelotti had a go at him about his fitness, he said, ‘What do you want me to do, run or score goals?”
“Ancelotti said, ‘score goals’, and the next time Ronaldo scored twice!,” the Gabonese international added.
“That is part of the character and as a striker, you need that because you have to be strong mentally.”
Meanwhile, Graham Potter has praised Conor Gallagher after his winning goal against Crystal Palace.
Graham Potter said: “I am delighted for Conor, delighted for the team, delighted for the substitutes that they could come on and have an impact. That is what you want. You want players that are disappointed and frustrated because they want to play, of course, but that they show that in a good way and are ready to help when they come on the pitch.
“I thought we had a good response in that regard. The group has been really good from the start and I am delighted for Conor, it’s a fantastic strike. He has a lot of respect for Crystal Palace, you can see that from his reaction. But he’s a Chelsea player now and it was a great goal for us.”
Asked about his first win for Chelsea, he added: “On a personal level, it’s nice to get the first win under the belt. I’m really pleased for the players because the pattern has been starting well away from home and then conceding and not getting the three points or any points.
“So they could’ve felt sorry for themselves but they didn’t. They kept going and pushing in the game. It was a tight game, could’ve gone either way in fairness but we’ve edged it. That’s how difficult it is here at Crystal Palace.”
Chelsea will host AC Milan in the first League at Stadium Bridge. The blues will need their support activated against AC Milan.
