A set of drawings for the RE/Search edition of J. G. Ballard’s novel The Atrocity Exhibition was her first prominent work in fiction publication.
These images combined clinical images of internal anatomy, sex, and physical trauma intriguingly and ambiguously. Before the 1998 publication of A Child’sChild’s Life and Other Stories, her early comic work, in short stories, needed to be more varied and frequently seen.
