Former Arsenal and England playmaker Paul Merson claims Sadio Mane’s Liverpool exit is a massive miss to the Merseyside club.
Sadio Mane was unveiled as Bayern Munich’s new player last week. The Senegalese international signed a three years contract with German Champions. He is expected to earn £360,000 a week and £19 million a year.
Mane made scored 120 goals and provided 48 assists in 269 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions. The Senegalese international was Jurgen Klopp’s first signing at Liverpool and won six trophies with Liverpool.
Bayern Munich paid £35 million for Sadio Mane and the 30-year-old attacker has been assigned the number 17 jersey at Bayern Munich.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, the Arsenal and England playmaker said: “Massive miss, massive; I worry for Liverpool, they have got an unbelievable manager but people forget that Mane was a big-game player who scored big goals.
“He was not getting third, fourth, and fifth in a 5-0 win, he would get the winning goal, the goal that took the lead or the equalizer, they’re the goals I look for.
“This lad [Darwin] Nunez has got to hit the ground running like [Luiz] Diaz and that doesn’t very rarely happen in the Premier League.”
Meanwhile, Sadio Mane’s agent Bacary Cisse has revealed that Lionel Messi wanted Barcelona to sign Mane Last summer.

“Last year it could have also happened with FC Barcelona. It was Lionel Messi who imposed Sadio Mane in the deal when it was a question of him extending to Barca. He had given two names: Sadio Mane and an Argentinian central defender.”
