According to authorities, one person was killed and three others were injured during a Christmas Eve shooting at a mall in Colorado, the second time in two days that gunfire rang out at a shopping center in the United States as people sought to finish their holiday shopping.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the shooting at the Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs occurred following a confrontation between two groups.
Officers responded shortly after 4:30 p.m., as holiday shoppers made last-minute purchases during what was projected to be the year’s second-busiest shopping weekend, following Black Friday. The incident in Colorado occurred only one day after gunshots erupted at a mall in Ocala, Florida, sending people fleeing for shelter on Saturday. One person was killed and another was injured, highlighting how common gun violence has become in everyday life in the United States.
at Colorado, one guy was discovered dead at a mall, and two other males “suffering from at least one gunshot wound each” were brought to nearby hospitals in critical condition, according to a police post on X, previously known as Twitter.
According to authorities, a lady was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The mall has been “cleared and closed,” according to the police department. “There is no known threat to the community at this time.”
