Authorities said that 25-year-old Megan Keleman was shot and killed in Cuyahoga Falls by 53-year-old Jason Williams.
Investigators are looking for answers following a possible murder-suicide that occurred last week outside a Taco Bell in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, despite the fact that the victim and the gunman seemed to be strangers.
Police discovered two fatally shot individuals in the drive-thru on Wednesday night. Authorities named Megan Keleman, 25, as the victim and Jason Williams, 53, the gunman.
When Keleman parked in front of Williams at the drive-through, the two got into a fight, and according to the police, Williams shot Keleman before killing himself.
After determining that Keleman had sustained gunshot wounds to her neck, the medical examiner declared her death to be a murder. Williams’ death from a gunshot wound to the head was determined to be a suicide.
Authorities stated they had not discovered any proof that the two knew one another, and no motive was immediately apparent.
Although the investigation is underway, Stow Police Chief Jeffrey Film told FOX8 Cleveland that the reason why the tragedy happened might never be known.
“We do not at this time have any answer for why this happened, and we may never know why,” Film said.
Williams was barred from owning a handgun due to his past criminal history, which included a recent allegation of operating a car while intoxicated.
According to posts on social media, Keleman had just finished her MBA at Cleveland State University and was employed at a program for youth at-risk.
On the front yard of Stow City Hall on Sunday at 7 p.m., there was to be a community vigil in honor of Keleman.
Candle lighting, prayers offered by nearby clergy, and counseling services will all be provided throughout the ceremony.
In this period of extreme sadness, Mayor John Pribonic asked the community to unite in support of Keleman’s family.
