The Sunyani Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr Musah Damtarrh is alleging that he was being attacks by some known followers of Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, MP for the Constituency.
Had it not been the timely intervention of some security officers, the story would have been different.
Mr Damtarl and the two others were said to be returning from the Sunyani Residency when one Lawyer Asare Atua, Asoma Salia popularly called Tupac and one other person, who allegedly wielded pistols and other weapon, accosted the chairman and his men and threatened to “finish them”.
Chairman Damtarrh and the two others’ cried for help which attracted some residents and security men around to come to their aid.
They were then being accompanied home by the security officers to their homes only to realize another set of assailants were patiently waiting to finish them if the first batch failed to do that.
Sensing danger, the Police escorted the chairman and the other two to the Sunyani police station for safety.
The unfortunate incident is believed to have happened at about 2:00am today.
