With Chelsea looking for a hero after half-time when the game was locked at a 2-2 draw, Noni Madueke stepped up to produce his best performance in Chelsea’s shirt.
The Chelsea winger combined with compatriot Cole Palmer to produce a moment of magic, extending Chelsea’s lead to three in less than a quarter of an hour, his first hat-trick in Chelsea shirt. The 6-2 win over Wolves marked Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca’s first victory in the Premier League and their first win at the Molineux Stadium since 2019.
What did Noni Madueke say after scoring his first senior hat-trick?
Reacting to his maiden Chelsea hat-trick, he said: “It’s really about just being clever and waiting for the right moment.
“The system allows us to probe and probe and probe and keep possession high up. The first goal was a bit lucky. The second and third ones were just Cole Palmer with two brilliant weight of passes, and I just had to step onto it and score really. They were good finishes on my weaker side.
“I’m made up for the hat-trick. It means a lot. As a forward player you want to score goals all the time, but most important is the win. It’s been tough coming here the last couple of years. Since I’ve come to the club I can’t remember winning against Wolves, so it’s good to win and for it to be resounding.”
The England international also hailed the Cole Palmer, who provided the assists for his first hat-trick, saying: “He’s unbelievable. He’s cold and I’m fire. It mixes well. He’s always got the ability to play the pass at the right time.
“I like to get the ball in space and beat people and make things happen, and luckily it worked.”
Madueke was pleased with Chelsea’s first win in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca and believes it is a sign of good things to come under the new manager.

Noni continued: “Everyone saw what he did at Leicester. He is mad about his approach and the little details. Even in the first game against City there were some nice patterns of play, but we were clinical against Wolves.
“When you can bring on Joao [Felix], Pedro [Neto], Christopher [Nkunku], there is so much quality in our team. Credit to everybody, it was a great team performance.
“Our team is full of talent and we are trying to execute Enzo’s style of football as best as we can. It’s coming on leaps and bounds since the start of pre-season. Long may it continue.”
