An Oregon newlywed nurse, reported missing three days ago, has been found dead, and one of her neighbors is in police custody.
The Beaverton Police Department announced on Facebook Saturday morning that Melissa Jubane, 32, was reported missing Wednesday after she failed to show up for her morning shift as a nurse at Providence St. Vincent Center in Portland. She had caused “concern among her coworkers, friends and family.”
The latter mentioned that police investigated her Beaverton residence but did not find her. She allegedly had a “lack of communication, which was considered unusual and concerning.”
The article quoted, “Throughout the day, officers and family members attempted to reach Melissa, but her phone seemed to be turned off.” “Additionally, investigators checking Melissa’s credit card and bank accounts had nothing new regarding her disappearance.”

The post added that “an extensive” investigation by police revealed that Bryce Johnathan Schubert, 27, a neighbor of Jubane, was “involved in her disappearance.”
The post said Jubane’s remains were found and he was arrested on Friday night.
The suspect was booked into Washington County Jail and could face second-degree murder, records showed. A family member or an attorney for Schubert could not be reached by CNN.
Jubane wed last week, as CNN affiliate KHLN reported.
Jubane’s employer, Providence Health & Services, said in a statement provided to CNN that the hospital where she worked is grieving with her colleagues and that her death “comes as a shock to us all.”
Melissa was an extraordinary nurse, dedicated to our Providence Mission and daily demonstrating our values of compassion, excellence, and integrity,” the group added. “We will miss Melissa; she was a person of Providence.”
Schubert had worked as a nurse at another Portland hospital before joining Providence Health & Services, it informed CNN.
CNN affiliate KATU said that Jubane “loved helping people” according to a friend of hers. She have a huge heart. She was always eager to assist others, no matter what or where they were.
According to Beaverton Police, Jubane’s death is still being looked into.
Man Found Dead in Closet at Florida Nursing Home; Family Seeks Answers
More than a week after he was reported missing from a North Miami nursing home and rehab center, a man has been found dead in a storage closet, and his distraught family in Florida is demanding answers.
The body of Elin Etienne, 69, was found in the closet at the North Dade Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Monday morning, according to Maj. Kessler Brooks with North Miami Police Department, CNN reported.
Police said 71-year-old Etienne was reported missing August 22. A missing person’s poster for him was released August 23, according a police department post on X.
Police told CNN that whereas the family of Etienne claims he has dementia, the institution contests this.
Kim Etienne, a relative, told CNN affiliate WSVN, “They said that he signed himself out, he doesn’t have the capacity to sign himself out.”
Administrator Stephanie Pena with North Dade Nursing and Rehab supplied a statement to CNN that said, “We are deeply committed to the health, well-being, and safety of our residents, above all else.”
“Our organization is fully cooperating with law enforcement and our state regulatory partners, as well as any other relevant agencies. We get through this challenging time by taking thoughtful care of one another.
Pena concluded, “In the meantime, we will work to ensure that our residents continue receiving the excellent care they have come to rely on from our community.”
The findings from the autopsy are pending, Brooks said, and the body of Etienne was taken by the county medical examiner. He added that the investigation is ongoing.
This week, family members gathered outside the assisted living facility. Kimberly Etienne told WSVN, “The entire family is here, and there have been no answers.”
Medicare.gov rates the North Dade Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with an overall rating of two out of five stars, one star for health inspections, and two stars for personnel.
It has been fined more than $23,000 in federal fines over the past three years. Medicare says that a facility could face a penalty for failing “to correct a citation for a long period of time” or for having “serious health or fire safety citations.”
