On Wednesday, law enforcement officers in Las Vegas were able to apprehend a convicted bomb builder who had escaped from a Nevada prison the previous week.
On Wednesday night, the police in Las Vegas were able to take Porfirio Duarte-Herrera, age 42, into jail without a fight breaking out. On their Twitter account, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) stated that patrol officers discovered him in the area of Eastern Avenue and Owen Avenue.
The Southern Desert Correctional Center in Indian Springs was reportedly broken into by Duarte-Herrera on the evening of the previous Friday, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections. The officials at the medium-security jail did not become aware that he had escaped until they noticed that he was absent from a headcount that took place on Tuesday morning.
An immigrant from Nicaragua named Duarte-Herrera is currently serving a life sentence for the construction and placing of a pipe bomb in the parking garage of the Luxor Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip in the year 2007.
