NDC manifesto: New fathers to get seven days Paternity leave

The Vice Presidential Candidate for the Opposition NDC, Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, has disclosed that fathers will get seven day leave off their work schedule to assist their nursing wives home.

Also, maternity leave for mothers will be increased from three to four months when the National Democratic Congress(NDC) cones to power.

This was made known during the campaign launch of the party dubbed ‘The People’s Manifesto’ at the University of Professional Studies(UPSA) in Accra.

The NDC intends to reduce the number of working hours for new mothers when they resume active work after their leave to not more than four hours a day.

She said “we will extend maternity leave to four months, we will limit working hours for nursing mothers to no more than four a day when they return and we will also require seven days of paternity leave for new fathers
