A couple in Oklahoma has been charged with child abuse after their daughter was maltreated and reduced to “skin and bones,” Their boy went missing and is believed to be dead.
According to a Facebook post from the Tulsa Police Department, Camille Lewis and John Miles have been detained and charged with child abuse and neglect after a relative reported that their son had been gone for years and that the couple had been sexually assaulting their daughter for years.
According to police, the children’s grandmother reported their 13-year-old daughter to them in September after Camille Lewis sent the girl, who was “skin and bones from malnourishment,” to live with her.
According to the grandma, Lewis also told her that her 11-year-old son had passed away.
The post stated that “Child Crisis Investigators questioned the 13-year-old girl.” She claimed that her stepfather, John Miles, and her mother, Camille Lewis, would beat and starve her and her brother while locking them in different closets for days.
The girl reportedly told police that John Miles, the children’s stepfather, “would offer her food in exchange for sexual favors” and that she was occasionally made to urinate in a bag or cup inside a closet.
According to her, she and her brother occasionally had to spend the night in a doghouse built like an igloo in the backyard and perform their workout outside in bitterly cold conditions.
The girl claimed the child had a seizure and died in March 2021 after she overheard her mother pleading with her brother to wake up. They couldn’t take him to the hospital, her mother informed her, “because they did not want to be in trouble.”
According to the post, “the girl said her mother told her in August 2021 that her little brother had died in her arms and had been buried in a park by John Miles and a relative.”
According to the girl, Miles later returned to the park, dug up the body, and carried it back to the house, where he burned it in a barrel and threw the ashes down the drain.
According to the police, Camille Lewis, arrested last week, confessed to assaulting the kids and leaving her daughter’s body covered in wounds. According to authorities, Lewis also stated that her kid ran away two years ago and hasn’t been seen since.
Following his arrest last week, John Miles was also charged with child abuse by injury and child neglect. Their bail has been set at $600,000.
Investigators are working on this case, and according to Tulsa police, it is currently being treated as a homicide investigation. “The brother’s remains were not discovered. Depending on how the inquiry turns up, charges might be changed.”
