What did Mason Mount say about Reece James’ injury?
The Chelsea midfielder said via the Chelsea official website: “It’s a bit of a cloud over the win.
“To see Reecey go off in his first game back is tough to watch. I saw him quickly in the changing room. He’s very down and he’s gutted.
“We don’t know how bad it is or what he’s done yet but I feel for him because it’s his first game back and to come off like that is not good.”
Mount scored Chelsea’s second goal of the game. Reacting to his goal he said: “It was a good finish and very pleased with that. To score at Stamford Bridge means a lot to me. It’s been a long time since I did it. It’s like Christmas, December again!
“To score the second goal and make the game a bit calmer was very important for us, so very happy with it.”
Chelsea was winless in their last six Premier League games. Mason Mount has insisted on the importance of the victory against Bournemouth.
Mason Mount added: “That was a massive game for us to get back to winning ways.
“It’s been quite a long time since we won. We needed to start quickly because we knew it might have been a tough game. To get the two goals in the first half was very important, and to then stick it out and get a clean sheet showed a lot of character.
“It was exactly how we wanted to go about it. We were aggressive, confident on the ball, and created a lot of chances. We could have had a few more. There are things to work on but it’s a positive result. We are back on track and need to keep going.”
Chelsea will be hoping to build on the momentum from their win against Bournmount when they face Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Despite Chelsea’s win over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge, The blues are still eight in the Premier League six points behind the top four places.
