The police said that the’serious danger’ has been neutralized now that they’ve taken action.
An investigation led to the arrest of a 70-year-old man in Baltimore County, Maryland, who is accused of raping many women between the years 1978 and 1986. The forensic evidence that led to the man’s arrest was retrieved by a physician working in an emergency room and put on microscope slides.
According to the police, on Wednesday, James Shipe Sr. was taken into custody and charged in connection with the rape investigations of five different women who had been victims in Baltimore County.
Although the arrest “cannot erase the harm Shipe inflicted upon the survivors,” it does remove a major danger from the community, as emphasized in a statement released by the Police Chief Robert McCullough. As the investigation into these crimes continues, we want you to know that as a victim of sexual assault, you have the unflinching support of all of us. We are grateful to each and every one of our partners for their assistance.
