Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated that the 28-year-old Harris County detective has worked for the organization for five years.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said that a Texas investigator was slain early on Thursday morning after being ambushed while following a suspect in aggravated assault. A manhunt is in progress and the culprit is still at large.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated on social media that the unnamed investigator was 28 years old and had worked for the sheriff’s office for five years.
HCSO Chief Deputy Mike Lee stated during a press conference early on Thursday morning that the incident started on Wednesday at 10:10 p.m. when a call for an aggravated assault was placed at the Little Caesars Pizza on Wallisville Road in northeast Houston.
A client who came in to pick up a pizza and grew irate when his order was incorrect allegedly attacked a restaurant staff. Unidentified client allegedly verbally attacked staff member before grabbing a gun, pistol-whipping them, and taking off in a car.
