The midterm campaign fundraising juggernaut for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy brought in around $500 million for him and his party.
If Republicans win the House on election day, which is widely anticipated to happen, McCarthy is the front-runner to become Speaker of the House. According to Punchbowl News, McCarthy raised more than $150 million for his own campaign and associated PACs, of which he donated over $75 million to the National Republican Congressional Committee and other Republican campaigns.
The McCarthy-aligned Congressional Leadership Fund, on the other hand, amassed $342 million in donations over the course of the cycle, apparently outraising their 2020 fundraising goals by more than $100 million.
On Tuesday, Republicans will regain control of the House after four years of Democratic rule, according to McCarthy. The magnitude of the anticipated Republican majority is still up for question, but polls generally support his view.
