Early Career
At age five, Páez, born in Guayaquil, began his professional career with Academia Alfaro Moreno. Barcelona SC opted against signing him when he was eight because it was “too difficult for a president to pay for a player at this age.” After a short stint with Emelec, he moved on to Patria, where he received more playing time in the forward position.

Páez, 18 years old, was the youngest player in any of the final teams for Argentina’s 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Páez received his first senior national team call-up on June 5, 2023.
