The 33-year-old France international has decided to go free until his deal expires with the Serie A champions.
Juventus announced Blaise Matuidi ‘s departure, with France Midfielder moving to MLS and joining Inter Miami with David Beckham.
On August 10, Goal announced that Matuidi negotiated with Juve that, despite a deal being signed, he will be able to leave free of charge until 2021.
After joining Paris St-Germain, Matuidi spent three seasons in Serie A, winning the Italian title every year as he played an important role in the Juventus community in the club.
In total, he played for Juve 133 times, winning the Italian Coppa, Supercoppa and lifting the 2018 World Cup with France.
Paulo Dybala was the only player to join Juventus during his tenure at the club. This highlights his status at the club and probably demonstrates the level Miami expects of him.
When Matuidi was 33 in April, he played in Juve 45 times in 2019-20 and the MLS hopes that a middle groundsman will be always signed close to the top of his game.
Head coach Diego Alonso will certainly be willing to replace his team at the earliest opportunity, Miami losing all 6 games. During the regular MLS season, they suffered five defeats and the MLS is the returning tournament for one reason.
In their official declaration, Juventus wanted Matuidi to be elegant, reading: “It was mainly his midfield substance which made him very much a player loved by the Juventus fans: for his determination, for his courage and his willingness to never give up.
“And we thank him for all these features and for the wonderful relationship he has always made with us.
“Blaise is someone in our hearts who will always be and we hope that the best for the future will come to him.”
Previous to his time at Juventus, Matuidi had spent his entire career in France with PSG, Saint-Etienne, and Troyes.
