Jenna was born to James E. Fischer, an engineer, and Anne Miller Fischer, a history teacher. She has a younger sister named Emily Fischer. Jenna schooled at Pierremont Elementary School in Manchester, Missouri, and Nerinx Hall High School in Webster Groves, Missouri, a private all-girls Catholic school.
