Jason Terrance Phillips, better known as Jadakiss, is a well-known American rapper born on May 27, 1975, in Yonkers, New York, under the zodiac sign of Gemini, of American nationality and black descent. The Lox later collaborated with other Bad Boy artists to write and perform on several songs, including Mary J. Blige’s “Can’t Get You Off My Mind,” The Notorious B.I.G. “Last Day,” Puff Daddy’s “It’s All About the Benjamins,” and Mariah Carey’s “Honey.” When Puff Daddy’s “I’ll Be Missing You” single featured the Notorious B.I.G. tribute song “We’ll Always Love Big Poppa” as the B-side, The Lox scored their first hit. The Lox released “Money, Power & Respect,” their debut studio album, on January 13, 1998. The Platinum album peaked at number one on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and third on the “Billboard” 200 charts.
They signed with Ruff Ryders Entertainment after leaving Bad Boy Records. In 2000, they released the platinum-certified “We Are the Streets” album. Jadakiss’s debut solo album, “Kiss Tha Game Goodbye,” was released in August 2001. It was rated Gold and included the hits “Knock Yourself Out,” “We Gonna Make It,” and “Put Ya Hands Up.” His follow-up album, “Kiss of Death,” from 2004, likewise achieved Gold status and peaked at the top of the “Billboard” 200 charts, Top Rap Albums chart, and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
