Jack Harrison will be reunited with his former teammate Frank Lampard on Saturday night, Before Lampard retired from professional football in 2017 he had a two-year stint in the United States where he played for MLS side New York City – following a spell with Manchester City.
And his teammate for those two seasons was Leeds attacking midfielder Jack Harrison. The 24-year-old is once again on loan at Elland Road from Man City and he’s the one the blues must try and nullify if they’re to emerge victorious in the premier league clash. Frank himself knows the kind of threat his former teammate poses ahead of the Saturday encounter, he recognized he’s a more developed player than he was years ago.
It’s safe to say that Harrison has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past three years, something which seems to have surprised Lampard ahead of their reunion.
“Jack is a million miles from the player he was in New York,” Lampard revealed in his pre-match press conference. “I hope that doesn’t sound negative in any way but he was a real development player at that point.
“He’s a really lovely lad. I have so much time for Jack. I keep in touch with him and I spoke with him the other day.
“The player he has developed into at Leeds is really impressive. He’s playing great football, is a threat with both feet. He is quick, can run at high intensity and he is one of their major players in an attacking sense.
“I’m delighted for him in how his career has developed.
“We want to nullify him tomorrow but his career has gone in a great direction and it continues to.”
Frank will hope he doesn’t have a good day on Saturday night but with the kind of form they’re in themselves, if they play to their best then they will have enough firepower to overcome Jack and his leed’s teammate.
