In fresh camera footage, James Yoo, 56, was seen shooting flares out of his window.
The homeowner who perished in the event deliberately set off a major explosion that destroyed an Arlington, Virginia, duplex in December, according to fire authorities’ statement on Friday.
In order to investigate the explosion, Arlington County Police, Arlington County Fire, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation collaborated with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
According to Fox 5 DC, investigators described every aspect of the incident in their report, starting with the first officer’s arrival on the site. Video from body-worn cameras was also made public, providing fresh perspectives on the explosion and the 56-year-old suspect James Yoo, the homeowner, setting off flares from his window.
The explosion, which involved gasoline and a “competent ignition source,” occurred in the home’s basement, according to authorities. They stated that “munitions used by police during this incident are verified not to be a competent ignition source.”
