According to a recent announcement made by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), the agency has opened nine investigations into the homes of children who identify as being of a different gender.
A judge in Texas has temporarily suspended court procedures to investigate families of transgender children who have undergone gender-affirming care. The judge granted an order on Friday, which paused the investigation until further notice.
As a result of the decision issued by Judge Jan Soifer, investigations into three families that have filed lawsuits have been halted, and members of the LGBTQ+ advocacy group PFLAG Inc. have been forbidden from engaging in investigations of a similar nature.
