Four fatal shootings occurred earlier this week, raising concerns about public safety. City officials in Gary, Indiana issued a statement saying that the killings were not random acts of violence.
Concern from the public was prompted by the shooting deaths of four persons, including two kids, during the course of about 24 hours on October 2 and 3.
The 50-year-old April King’s body was found inside an abandoned home on Sunday. Police suspect the incident was an attempted murder-suicide since a male with a head wound was discovered on the front porch of the home.
Later on the same day, Arlandus Jackson, 37, was injured by a gunshot and taken to a nearby hospital. Later, he was determined to be deceased.
