‘I will invest more on Mbappe’-Dani Alves reveals as he chooses Mbappe over Haaland

Barcelona Dani Alves has disclosed that he would spend more on Mbappe than Haaland if he is a sporting director.

Mbappe and Haaland are considered to be the apparent heirs to the throne of Messi and Christiano Ronaldo.

Both youngsters are tipped to make a move this summer. European Elite Clubs are battling to secure the signature of these players.
Mbappe’s contract with PSG ends this summer. Real Madrid is considered to be the preferred destination for the Frenchman. Although, Barcelona is also keeping tabs on the Mbappe situation.

Haaland is certain to leave Dortmund if his €75 million release is triggered. Manchester city is the frontrunner in the race to sign the Norwegian striker.
Dortmund CEO Joachim Watzke in a recent interview admitted that they cannot match Manchester City’s offer for Haaland should they come calling.

What did he say?

In an interview with Spanish outlet Sport, Brazil international Alves, 38, stated that he would rather spend on Mbappe than Haaland.

“I would not throw everything at Haaland,” explained the defender. “Sincerely, I wouldn’t spend a lot of money on him. On Mbappe, yes, but Haaland no. I’m playing at sporting director here, but I’d bet on Mbappe first.

“He seems more complete in every aspect. If you are going to make a huge investment, you have to do it the best. If it was up to me, I’d bet on Mbappe.”

Dani Alves also expects Barcelona to be busy in the summer transfer market.

“Football today doesn’t give time for the youngsters to cut their teeth. The sport demands the most of you from the start. However I would not spend a lot of money on certain players,” he stated.
