About Suzume no Tojimari
Suzume no Tojimari, an animated fantasy adventure film produced by CoMix Wave Films, follows a high school girl and a mysterious young man as they journey around Japan to prevent a series of disasters. Makoto Shinkai will be commissioned to write and direct the film in 2020.
Suzume, a seventeen-year-old girl, meets a fascinating visitor hunting for a secret entrance. They discover the unusual entryway in an abandoned mountain home. Suzume is compelled to reach for the handle. When the young guy enters the door, he opens a portal to the unknown, and entries like that appear throughout Japan. Suzume must now go over the mountains and across the sea to lock each such door in Japan to prevent the Door of Disasters from destroying Japan.
